Dr. Tina D’Amato
Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
Dr. D’Amato graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 1997 with a Bachelor’s Degree in the History of Science, Medicine & Culture. While at Hopkins, she received one of the National Institutes of Health’s first CAM (Complementary & Alternative Medicine) grants allowing her to perform standard pharmaceutical analysis on the natural compounds in plants.
Upon graduating, she spent three years working as a pharmacy technician and managing a natural foods store eventually assisting CVS Pharmacy in setting up their herb-drug interaction database. Also during that time, she studied with a Naturopathic physician, eventually earning certificates in Naturopathic, Homeopathic, Herbal and Nutritional Healing.
In 2004, Dr. D’Amato graduated from University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine with a D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) degree. There she excelled in the areas of primary care, women’s health and complementary & integrative medicine. She then went on to complete a residency in Family & Community Medicine at University of Massachusetts in Worcester where she helped develop the Family Planning & Reproductive Health Curriculum. She is board certified in Family Medicine.
In her practice Dr. D’Amato offers primary care medicine and osteopathic manipulation with a focus on health and wellness. She incorporates her knowledge of traditional medical treatments with her experience with complementary and alternative modalities to create a patient-centered treatment plan. She has special interests in women’s health, contraception, thyroid/hormone imbalance, sports medicine and LGBTQ health.
Dr. D’Amato is dedicated to raising awareness about concussions and brain injury and sees many patients with Traumatic Brain Injuries and works closely with BIA’s Vermont Chapter. She sees patients age 12 and above. She accepts all major insurance plans including Medicare and VT Medicaid.
In her spare time Dr. D’Amato is an avid New England sports fan and loves to eat vegetarian/vegan food cooked by her amazing husband David. She has been obsessed with ancient Egypt since she was a child and dreams of seeing the pyramids up close one day. She also enjoys spending time with her 4 legged children, Fenway- a Boston Terrier- and Picholine – a Pug.
